Man vs Wild or Survivorman?

Being a nature enthusiast, and fan of the two great Discovery Channel shows, I thought I would pose the question, Who is more hardcore, Bear Grylls or Les Stroud?

The phony bear faked it in Kilauea Volcano also. He taped most of the show a few hundred feet from the highway. Most of the scenes in the show don't exist in the area he was supposed to be in: avocado trees, lava tube, tropical forest are all in different parts of the island. I have hiked this area hundreds of times. I can understand how people who have not been to the area may think it's legitimate, but I was surprised how easy it was to dupe the Discovery Channel. It would be suicidal to follow the advice given by this show.

Yeah, Bear does his stunts for a good show, and overall he is more fit for the camera. As far as survival goes, Les does it the right way. Les has it tough being completely alone out there with no camera crew. You won't see him trying to climb up a waterfall or swim under canyon pools of stagnant water. I hope Bear gets eaten by a Bear on camera!
True Bear might have a camera crew, and yes there may be a lot of scenes shown just for camera, BUT how about the food Bear has eaten not to mention drinking urine. And even if Bear is not as "hardcore" as they make him out to be, he is way more entertaining. I would much rather watch Bear scale rock walls and jumping out choppers than watch the out of shape, annoying, harmonica playing Les rough it by him self. Television is entertainment, and Bear wins hands down.
Man VS Wild is more like Man vs not all that wild. But I agree with the above comment. Les is annoying.
Bear takes more risks and his level of fitness is way above average. But he is more entertaining and informative. Les is more practical and daring to be left all alone without an immediate backup. Both the men are good in their own way and really need to be apreciated. But i personally like Bear more than Les.
I agree with what everyone is saying here pretty much.. They are both good in their own way.. one is all alone which is ballsy and due to that, wont take the risks and try the crazy stunts Bear does, due to that he is intelligent enough not to get himself into that trouble all alone. YET, he is a TRUE survivor. In the other hand Bear, does have his camera crew, and of course he will take all those crazy moves no doubt and will do the imaginable, well come on he is not alone and his body can take it. However, this is the bottom point.. is TV and TV is entertainment and Bear DOES WIN the battle........ who says he doesnt it?? uh?
