Transformer costumes that transform!
These are great costumes, put together by some talented kids. I often wonder where people find the time to do sh*t like this?

Busy weekend
More so than usual. Let's see...
-Work (IBM)
-St. Justin Carnival
-KIIS FM Homecoming Concert w/Gwen Stefani
-More St. Justin Carnival
-Lakers Fiesta in OC
-More St. Justin Carnival (whew...I'm beat...)
Some highlights included: Gwen, of course. Taylah got a nasty blister on her hand from the giant slide (I may post the vidclip of me popping it). Also Ethan went on "The Zipper" not once, but twice! That little dude is bravery defined. He was barely tall enough, and he had a blast. I smell funny because I was cooking behind the grill all day cooking for the carnival masses. Taylah and Tisha made more free throws than me at the Laker Fiesta. We met some of the Laker girls. We saw Sacha, Bynum, Chris Mihm, and Turiaf. We ate funnel cake, and I slipped and fell on a piss-puddle my dog left in the kitchen! grrr...that last one was more a lowlight than a highlight.
Of course there will be pictures posted soon...

Lakers OC Fiesta Sunday Oct, 28
After several successful years of the Fiesta Lakers event in L.A., the Lakers are now having a Fiesta Lakers in Orange County.
The party is jumping off on Sunday 28th at the Anaheim Convention Center. Lakers players, Laker Girls, Latino musical acts, a kids zone and more will be on hand and while admission is free, you must have a ticket. Tickets can be found in 12 packs of Coors beer in L.A. area Food4Less stores and Kragen auto parts stores.

SoCal is burning
A few times a year we experience a weather phenomenon called the Santa Ana Winds. Usually it's in the Fall, and it consists of a few breezy days. Typically its nice because it clears out the smog and pollution, and makes for good kite-flying weather. The last two days we've had an incredible Santa Ana condition. Having lived here all this time, we are used to the winds, wildfires, and earthquakes, but we are talking 80 mph-plus winds blowing through our area. Last night was the worst I've ever seen in my 30 years of living here. Luckily the kids slept through it all, but Tisha and I were up all night, as it felt like the house was gonna lift up off it's foundation.
Along with the high winds, comes the unfortunate wildfires that blaze up and down the coast. If you step outside right now, you can see and smell all of the ash from the infernos, and it wreaks havoc on your allergies. Hopefully, these winds die down so Tisha and I can get a decent nights sleep...

Nana's 60th Birthday Party
It was Taide's 60th Birthday Party, and our family and friends came to enjoy Food, Mariachi's and Dancing. It was a total surprise to her, even though we thought she had figured it out. Happy Birthday Nana!

This Laker Fan is Freaking out!
I was listening to my favorite sports talk show today, and a source reported that he was cleaning out his locker. I almost ran into a light post! I had to call my brother-in-Law and get his take on it. He is the second biggest Laker fan I know.
With the looming threat of Kobe Bryant being traded, I still am curious to see my team and wonder who will step up big this year. This team has a lot of question marks, but through thick and thin, I'm a Laker for life!

When the frak is BSG coming back?
The answer to the above question is Saturday November 24th. No, it's not the premier of the much anticipated Season four of Battlestar Galactica, but a two hour movie called Razor. According to the Sci-Fi channel, Razor will serve as a backdrop for the events of season four of Battlestar Galactica, tells the story of Lee Adama's first mission as the commander of the Battlestar Pegasus — and the harrowing tale of that ship's desperate fight for survival in the immediate aftermath of the Cylon's genocidal siege of the Twelve Colonies. You can get your fix of BSG by visiting the website, where every Friday you can watch two minute webisodes that focus on William "Husker" Adama (Apollo's Brother). These are flashbacks to the first Colonial War, and you get to see the original Vipers in dogfights!
It has been a long layoff since the end of a mind-blowing season three finale, and frankly, I can't wait to be back among the fleet...

Angels go quietly into the night...
I now have a new enemy to focus all of my angst on, The Boston Red Sucks! As an Angel fan, we were hoping to face the Yankees in the ALDS, but it was not meant to be. We own the Yankees, the Yankees own the Red Sucks, but the Red Sucks have the Angels number! Such as it is in the wacky baseball universe...
The fact that we scored in only two innings of three games, really is a punch in the gut. Game 1 was understandable because Beckett was on fire, but I don't understand the rest of this ugly Angel skid...
The only comfort I take from this experience is when I look out my window and see the swaying palms, blowing in the Santa Ana wind, I thank god I live in So Cal and not in Chowda-ville.
